Senior Championship                Maryland 1:12  The Downs 0:8

We played  Maryland in Moate on Saturday evening, The Downs performed poorly in the first half and conceded possession easily to Maryland resulting in a halftime score 1:7 to 0:2.  The Downs improved in the second half, created more scoring chances and outscored Maryland in the half. Had we been more accurate and converted more of our scoring opportunities the result may have been different. We are now providing a First Aid officer for our Friday evening coaching sessions. New volunteers are always welcome and the Friday evening slots are provided on a rota basis. Please contact Trudy @ 087 9890121 for more information a reminder that a Defibrillator is located at the clubhouse at the external wall of the entrance porch.

Thanks to everyone who supported our 5K run on Wednesday last, it was an enormous success with 370 people participating. Well done to all involved in organising the event and all who helped out on the night it ran smoothly and efficiently.

Our under 14 team leave on Friday for Ballyfin Co Laois to take part in Feile Peil , we wish them the best of luck as they represent their club and county on the national  stage.Thanks toeveryone who supported our fundraising and helped out in any way.

The Ladies Football are collecting bags of clothes as a fundraiser, so you can now de- clutter and help the club raise funds. Bags of clothes can be left with any team coach or committee member or in The Shop. Please ask family, neighbours, friend and co-workers to fill a bag.
