Senior Hurling

The senior hurlers play Thurles Sarsfields on 6th June in Holycross in the final game of the group stage.  The seniors played Toomevara in a county league game on Sunday evening and after a spirited comeback in the second half they came up just short losing on a score line of 2-14 to 1-14. See match report on www.drominch.com.

They play Borrisoleigh in the county senior league on Friday evening in the Ragg. (See fixtures for details)

Intermediate Hurling

Our intermediates played Moyne Templetuohy on Sunday morning and suffered a defeat on a score of 2-19 to 0-12. They now play Grangemockler-Ballyneale in Grangemockler on Wednesday 26th May knowing that a win is essential if we are to have aspirations of making the semi final of the league.

Golf Classic 2010

Reminder that the Drom-Inch GAA club golf classic will take place in Rathdowney Golf club on Friday 16th July. Anyone interested in organising it or entering a team contact Brian Boyle or Pat Egan or any committee member. This proved to be a great day out for everybody that played last year with some fantastic prizes on offer.

Field Development:

In the past 2 weeks the club have installed 2 number dugouts in the field in Drom. This is a very welcome feature for the field as it was very harsh on the children who were been exposed to the brunt of the bad weather during recent games. The club would like to express their thanks to Tom Kearney for manufacturing of them.

Juvenile News:

Under 6,U8’s, U10’s

Under 8 blitz this Saturday at 10am in the Ragg, Under 8’s only to attend, no Under 10 or Under 6 training this weekend.

Under 12:

Pride of place this week goes to our Under 12 A football champions after they defeated JK Brackens by 8 points to 3 points in the Mid Final. This was a great team performance and they showed skill and determination on their way to victory. This is a very historic occasion as it is the first time in a number of years that we have won a football title in the A grade. Huge thanks must go to the selectors and the coach who have done trojan work with this panel of players. They now go forward to contest the county semi final which will take place on Monday evening next.

The victorious panel was as follows:

Eoin Collins; Shane Ryan, Robert Kennedy, Michael Clohessy; Andy Purcell, Paul Bergin, John Ryan; Conor O’Meara, Aidan O’Meara; Caoimhe Bourke, Stephen Nolan, Aaron Ryan; Ben Ahern, Pauric Campion (c), Glynn Stewart, Mark O’Brien, Orla Cahill, Jason Heskin, Rachael Thorpe, Rory O’ Dwyer, Niall Fogarty

Under 14:

On Thursday next our U14’s play Gortnahoe Glengoole in the Mid Football final in Littleton at 7pm. You support would be greatly appreciated as the team goes in search of the second Mid final in a week.
