Elphin GAA Update April 10th

Best of luck to our Quiz Team and Leiriu Group in the Scór Sinsear All-Ireland Finals on Saturday in IT Sligo.
Adult Football
The senior team lost out to Strokestown on a scoreline of 2.15 to 1.11 on Saturday last. The 1st round of the championship takes place next Sunday evening, we are taking on St Croans in Enfield at 6.30pm. All support welcome.
ABC Programme
The Agility, Balance and Coordination (ABC) programme for 4-7 year olds continues this Friday from 6:30- 7:30pm in Elphin Community Centre. All children in the parishes are welcome to attend.
Elphin/Ballinameen Round-up
Last night of registration for all players including ABC members this Friday the 13th from 6.30 to 7.30 in Hall. Any player who is not registered is not insured and will not get games. Please return completed registration forms to management teams, Una Killoran, Geraldine O Connor or Kathleen McCaffery.
Under 10 training begins in the Orchard on Saturday morning at 10. The following week U8’s will commence with the U10’s.
Elphin Ballinameen U-12s drew with Kilbride in their rescheduled game on Monday evening. It ended 0-10 apiece.
The U14’s are away to Western Gaels on Thursday 12th at 7pm.
Well done to the Elphin Ballinameen u16’s who had a good win over Strokestown on Monday evening last, they also beat Roscommon Gaels on a score line of 2-12 to 1-10 in a hard fought game. They are due to play Oran on Sunday next in the Orchard at 11am. Please note this game is subject to change.
Elphin LGFA
Thank you to everyone who turned out for the Elphin / Kilmore presentation night in Brackens bar in Hillstreet Friday night. Medals were presented to Kilmore U12’s and Kilmore U16’s and also to the amalgamated Elphin / Kilmore U16 team for their championship win last year.
Our “Take a Chance” Draw was held on the night with 19 cash prizes won to the value of €3,000. Thank you to all who entered and also to those who sold tickets for us. A great night was had by all.
U8 & U10’s training continues on Thursday evenings at 6pm in the Orchard Park.
Our U12’s played St. Michael’s today (Sunday) in the Orchard Park with a great display on both sides. We had over 25 Elphin / Kilmore girls tog out for the game showing the huge interest in underage ladies football. They face Kilglass Gaels on Sunday 15th April away at 6pm. U12’s training takes place on saturdays with times posted on facebook each week.
U14’s training commences Saturday 14th, keep an eye on our facebook page for times.
Our U16’s take on Clann na nGael on Sunday 15th in the Division 1 Championship in the Orchard Park at 4pm. Registration is required for all players and registration forms can be obtained by contacting Triona Higgins or John Keane.
Couch to 5km:
The couch to 5km continues every Tuesday and Thursdays at 8pm and Saturday at 10am. Best of luck to all participant’s and thank you for signing up.
Elphin GAA Lotto:
There was no winner of last week’s Lotto Jackpot. The Numbers drawn were 3, 13, 16 & 24. The Lucky Dip winners were Gerry Lambert, Joan Glancy, Linda Macken and John Ames. This week’s jackpot is €5,800 and the Draw will take place in Timmy’s. Entry is just €2, Envelopes are available in local shops or you can play here.
