A very young Junior team lost out to St. Brigids in the opening round of the Championship on Saturday. The game was very even in the first quarter but half-time St. Brigids had built up a 14 point lead. Elphin came storming back at the resumption and had the deficit back to 7 points with 12 minutes left however the home side fought back and the game finished St. Brigids 2-22 Elphin 2-9. Cillian Fox had an outstanding game, while others to shine were Darren Lee, Michael Glancy and Brendan Neary. Credit must go to both teams for a very sporting and enjoyable game.
