SENIOR:
Our Seniors lost to Castlerea by the narrowest of margins on Sunday. Not for the first time this year Elphin started very slowly and Castlerea raced into a 4 point lead. This soon increased to a 1-05 after 15minutes and it was looking bleak for Elphin. However they were thrown a lifeline when Frankie Cregg was fouled twice before being awarded a penalty. This was duly converted by John Collins and further points saw the half time score a more manageable 1-6 to 1-03.
Points were traded again in the 2nd half , but again Castlerea stretched their lead, however Elphin found the back of the net again to reduce the margin. For the last 10 minutes Elphin chipped away at Castlerea`s 5 point lead but ran out of time losing by 1 point.

Our next fixtures are against St. Brigid`s in the Orchard Park. On Tuesday we play them in the Leo Kenny Connaught Cup at 8pm and on Saturday we play them in the O`Rourke Cup.
UNDER 12:
Our u12s had a good win over Kilmore on Sunday. They started well and put 3 early points on the board but Kilmore hit back with a goal. There was very little between the teams at this stage but a goal from Elphin before half time left the score 1-6 to 1-2 in favour of Elphin at the break. The second half was low scoring with both sides missing chances but Elphin got 2 late goals to win on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-5.

ROSCOMMON GAA MEMBERS DRAW 2009:
