SENIORS
The Seniors rounded of a most dominant Division Two campaign by claiming the Cathal Brady Audi Division Two League title at the weekend. Rounding of the league season undefeated, the side put in another commanding performance in a wet and windswept O’Connell Park in Drumlane in fitting with all their league performances to date.
With the elements then in their favour, Kingscourt managed to completely boss the second half and goals from Joe McMahon and Mark McKeown killed of a determined challenge from Drumgoon.
QUIZTIME
Congratulations to James Farrelly, Eoin Lynch, Padraig Donagh & David Donagh who won through to represent the club in the upcoming U-17 Scor Quiz, after some very competitive trials in the club pavilion last week.
The quartet will now take part in the county heats and will compete in Drumlane on Saturday evening and we wish them the best of luck.
With regard the four brave souls who wore the club colours in last week’s i105-107FM’s Pull Hard quiz for local GAA clubs in Jayz in Carrick. Well, in the words of a famous DJ, “ah, sure they just didn’t suit ye!”
FRIDAY FIGHT NIGHT
No it’s not word of the monthly club committee meeting but something of much more interest! Senior Club Captain, Alan Clarke, is currently in training with the Cavan Senior Panel for a fundraising fight night in The Imperial Hotel on Friday 11th December.
On the night, 30 of the top club footballers in the county will go head to head in 15 three round bouts. Tickets are €25 each (free entry to the nite club included!) and all proceeds go towards the very worthwhile causes of the Baby Max Wings of Love Charity & The Kelvin Brady Treatment Fund.
This unique fundraiser promises to be a great night entertainment and as the sole Kingscourt representative it’s hoped there will be a large and noisy crowd on the night to support Alan. Anyone interested in going can obtain tickets directly from Alan or in the usual sub-committee HQ of Pat Faulkner’s shop….
