SENIORS

Kingscourt secured promotion to Division One with yet another dominating display in Kildallon on Saturday when they easily overcome their nearest challengers leaving Killesghandra to fight out for second place after a 1-16 to 1-5 victory.  Despite the long trip Kingscourt opened sharply and found the net after just two minutes when a pass from Barry Reilly was cleverly flicked on by Sean Og Gargan, deceiving the keeper, and ended in the back of the net.

After that, Kingscourt ran out easy winners and maintained their ten point winning average in a league campaign that has saw them ruthless in their quest for Division One football for 2010.  A more detailed report and pictures are available on www.kingscourtstars.ie

Kingscourt finish their final home league match on Saturday at 4pm against Crosserlough.  While there is nothing at stake, their performances this year deserve a big home crowd to show the club’s appreciation for all the efforts of everyone connected to the side. Amazingly enough, there is a slight chance this game might not be played, so stick your head into Pat or M&F later in the week for confirmation on that.

U-10’s

Oversized jersies, undersized corner forwards and one midfielder nearly a foot taller than the rest.  It can only mean U-10 football!!  Pat Byrne’s side face Bailieboro in the park at 6.30pm on Tuesday evening.  Always worth checking out the future talent on offer, so why not take a wee walk down and check them out.

JUVENILE HURLING

It is hoped to start up a regional seven a side (U-8 and U-10) hurling league over the coming months. This will be confined to the primary schools locally, (Bailieboro,  Kingscourt, Knockbride and Killinkere). There will be no big distances to travel and the aim is purely so the kids get to learn the game. If anyone is interested in either helping out or having their child participate please contact Willie Gaughan on 086 1649280.

COMMITTEE

October Committee Meeting at 9pm on Friday in Club Pavilion. All members are requested to attend; go on, it’ll be great craic….

MATCHES IN PARK

This week sees two matches scheduled in the park that may be of interest.  On Wednesday night, Bailieboro and Killinkere are scheduled to replay their Junior C Championship Final at 8pm.  On Friday, the Cavan Masters take on their Kildare counterparts at 8pm.

Both matches should be very enjoyable although like most games are liable to be called off at any moment, so keep an eye on for the floodlights as an indication as to whether there’s any action taking place.
