There will be a football match in Abbey Park at 2PM on St Stephen’s Day.
The theme of the game is Fathers Vs Sons.
This is the chance for all those ‘Experts’ in the stand to show the young guns how it should be done.
Our stars of the past have been going through a rigorous programme of physical and mental activities in preparation for this encounter. Our two resident referees will be playing for the ‘Fathers’ team and will be displaying their expert knowledge of the game. Indeed, the level of experience on the ‘Fathers’ team is sure to cause plenty of problems for the opposition.
Other breaking news is that our club Secretary will be officiating on the day. This could be a source of some concern for the ‘Sons’ as, although she will have links to both teams, it is expected she may be biased towards the elder statesmen.
Whatever the outcome, an entertaining game is expected. After the game there will be a presentation of a Cup and medals in Malachy’s as well as some well earned refreshments.
