The project is currently with the Place-names branch in Dublin. No further progress can be made until the Dept. of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs have researched the townlands names submitted. This should be completed in October. This information will then be forwarded to CLAR Bi-lingual townland signage scheme, Mayo County Council. SET DANCING Set dancing classes have resumed in the Bishop O’Healy Resource Centre, Mayo Abbey on Monday nights. All dancers welcome, especially beginners. Mayo Abbey Foróige club is not starting at present due to a lack of new adult leaders coming forward. For further information, contact 087 27 43 067. New leaders are urgently needed to ensure the continuation of the club. It is for the benefit of the children that parents and others interested in helping are encouraged to participate. Unless the support is forthcoming this outlet for our young people could be lost, and once lost it will take much time and effort to get it going again.
