Senior: The senior hurlers fell to a strong Kildangan side in the North Senior Hurling Championship quarter final on Sunday evening. A personal total of 3-5 from Patrick Maher wasn't enough as we fell to a 1-29 to 4-11 defeat.
Our championship campaign is now in limbo as we await the progress of Killenaule and Eire Og Annacarty in their divisional championships, if one or both is successful, we will progress to the last 16, which is unlikely to be played until September at the earliest.
Junior Hurling: Lorrha face Nenagh Eire Og in the second round of the North Junior 'B' Championship in Moatfield this Friday at 7.30pm.
Minor: The minor hurlers suffered a heavy defeat to Borrisokane in the third round of the championship last Wednesday evening. This Wednesday (22nd July) we travel to face Templederry at 7.30pm.
Under 16: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers were due to play Templederry last Monday week but the game was postponed. Last Monday, 20th July, they defeated Burgess in Ballinderry. Next Monday, 27th July, they are away to Borrisokane at 7.00pm
Under 14: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers will face Silvermines in a playoff this evening (Wednesday) in Dolla at 7.00pm. The winner will play Burgess or Moneygall/Clonakenny in a semi-final while the loser will meet Newport Gaels.
Under 12: The Under 12's return to action on Friday, 24th July with a home game against Templederry at 7.00pm.
Tipperary: Hard luck to Brian Hogan and the Tipperary under 21 hurlers against Limerick in the Munster semi-final last Thursday evening and also to the senior footballers on their defeat to Tyrone.
Cul Camp: The Lorrha Kelloggs Cul Camp took place in Moatfield last week. Despite the mixed weather, 67 children took part over the five days and the club would like to thank the County Board and their coaches for a superb week as well as our own juvenile officers who ensured everything went off smoothly.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Pat Daly. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Cleary family on the death of Johnny Cleary, Birr, and late of Gurteen who passed away suddenly last week. May he rest in peace.
