Clonmore GFC received great news on Thursday, 8 October, when we were allocated a Sports Capital Grant of €135,000 for the refurbishment of our existing clubhouse at Woodside. We have until October 2017 to substantially complete the project and draw down the grant.
While the grant will go a long way towards funding the project, the club will also have to contribute a significant portion of the overall cost. The refurbishment will include additional dressing rooms, upgraded kitchen, meeting rooms and upstairs training area.
Well done to the Committee, especially James Doyle, Clive Lambe and Jim Whelan for submitting a winning proposal. Thanks also to County Board Chairman, Michael Meaney, and Pat Deering TD for supporting the club's application for the grant.
Speaking to the Nationalist, Chairman James Doyle said "We are going to revamp and refurbish the facility. It is an unbelievable amount of money. we applied for a grant for this specific purpose. We want to extend our dressing rooms, our kitchen area and create an upstairs area for indoor training."
