CPO lines up a series of events for fans

Ethnic Friendly:
Sligo Rovers are taking on Finn Harps in a special challenge game in the Showgrounds on Monday 2 June. Both sides will be made up of members of local immigrant communities. The Sligo Rovers side will be comprised of members from Sligo Immigrants Organisation who have worked closely with the club on the preparations for the game. This is the second of two games, the first played last night in which Sligo Rovers won 3-2. Scorers for Rovers were Thomas Atcha, Bernard MBencho and Hewa Orang.

There will be ethnic food displays and entertainment on the day. Admission is free and kick-off will be 2 o’clock.

Table Quiz:
Sligo Rovers in association with the Clarence Hotel, Sligo are holding a table quiz on Wednesday June 4th. It will be a general knowledge quiz with a specialist round on Sligo Rovers. Tables of 4 cost €20 and the quiz begins at 9 o’clock. First prize is four tickets for Ireland’s first home World Cup qualifier against Cyprus in Croke Park on the 15th October. There will also be top prizes for teams that come  
second and third and there will be an array of spot prizes on the night. The quizmaster will be Seanie McGuire.

Eircom League of Ireland Soccer Superstar Challenge:
Sligo Rovers in association with the FAI and the Irish Sun/News of the World are bringing the Eircom League of Ireland Superstar Challenge on Saturday June 7th in the Carraroe Retail Park. There will be three competitions for U-12, U-16 and Senior with the winners going through to the Connacht Finals where the participants for the National finals will be determined. The national prizes are as follows:

U12 & U16 competition: VIP Trips (with accompanying adult) to Republic of Ireland World Cup Qualifiers at Croke Park, meet players etc.

Senior Prize €10 Day Luxury Trip to Italy for two culminating in a VIP Trip to Italy v Republic Of Ireland in the World Cup Qualifier next year.

There will also be prizes for the local competition winners. Further details are to be announced shortly.
