Lotto

Club lotteries have been a regular part of fundraising efforts at sports clubs in Ireland for decades and Clubforce (as locallotto.ie) became the online home of club and society lotteries over 10 years ago. The Clubforce system allows clubs to sell lottery tickets online to club members at home and abroad. Members can enter multiple draws at once and receive automated emails with lottery results and club news.

This online lottery service is included as part of the club’s overall subscription to Clubforce and can be run in-tandem with offline lottery or run exclusively online.

Minors make it three wins in a row. St Joseph’s 3-6 Mayo Gaels 3-12

Our minor team make it three wins in a row when they travelled to Kilmovee on Friday evening to take on St Joseph’s (the combined powers of Kilmovee and Charlestown). In a closely fought game the Gaels lads had just enough in the end to win by six points on a final score line of St Joseph’s 3-6 Mayo Gaels 3-12. They have two home games left in the league at home to Louisburgh on May 11th and at home to Ballaghaderreen which has yet to be confirmed.

Juniors beaten. Tourmakeady 2-14 Mayo Gaels 1-10

Our junior team travelled to the shores of Lough Mask on Saturday evening but came away empty handed. A lethargic first half performance where they found themselves twelve points down at one stage proved to be their ultimate down fall. Tourmakeady started brightly with two points from play in the opening two minutes. The Gaels replied with a free by Stephen Murphy after seven minutes. The home side then completely took over for the next twenty minutes and rattled off 2-6

U-12s play entertaining game with Balla. Mayo Gaels 1-14 Balla 6-5

A cold Abbey Park played host to a very entertaining game of football on Saturday evening as Mayo Gaels clashed with Balla in an U-12 challenge. A very high standard of football was shown from the start and at half time both teams could not be separated on a score line of Mayo Gaels 1-7 Balla 3-1. A feature of the first half was the long range shooting from the Mayo Gaels players who could have been in front were it not for the intervention of the crossbar and posts on four separate occasions.

U-12s win first league game. Carras 4-6 Mayo Gaels 6-5

Our U-12 team played an exciting game with Carras on Monday evening. The young games lads played great stuff and lead handsomely but Carras got back into the game with two late goals. Their next game is at home to Monday week May 21st at 7pm.
