1947 survivors

Michael McGarry and Tom Keane photographed together at the St. Patrick’s Gaa gathering function held in Cloneen hall recently.

The function was organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the club winning three south title in 1963. The members of these three teams junior football, junior hurling and minor football were honoured by the St. Patrick’s club on the night. Also remembered on the night were the senior and junior football teams of 1953 who brought back the senior and junior county titles to our parish sixty years ago.
Two of the men honoured who played in ’53 were also members of the victorious team of ’47 which won the county senior football title sixty six years ago. They were Michael McGarry and Tom Keane (pictured above). Both men are enjoying great health and really enjoyed the night as they recalled games they played over sixty years ago.
We wish both men many more years of good health and happiness!
