The AGM of the club was held in the clubroom Wednesday night December 13th with an attendance of over 60. Outgoing chairman Liam Barry welcomed all present and officially opened the meeting. The first item on the agenda was the reading of the Minutes of the 2005 AGM. Secretary Kathleen Johnson read these and they were adopted having been proposed and seconded. Next came the Runai’s Report for the year 2006. In her annual report the secretary presented a very detailed account of the years activities on and off the field. From Minor to Senior we fielded 9 teams in total. While trophies are sometimes recorded as the only measure of success and 2006 didn’t bring silverware in abundance to the club it was still obvious from Kathleen Johnson’s report that the past year was a good one for Bride Rovers. For the first time ever, and in only our third year in the grade, we qualified for the quarter final of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship. While the result v Erins Own was disappointing in the extreme we had great wins over Delaneys and St. Finbarrs . In football we reached our fourth East Cork Final in 5 years but lost to Fr O Neills after extra time. On the inter county front Brian Murphy did the club proud with his displays for the Cork Hurlers . He brought the first ever All;_ Star award to the club as well as a GPA team of the year award. Liam Barry and Mike Carey wee integral figures in the backroom team which guided Cork to the Intermediate Title. The secretaries Report showed that we are not competing well at minor, u-21 and junior level and this is an area where urgent attention is needed. In her report the Runai also dealt with all the various aspects of club activity, Scor, juvenile club, camogie and ladies football club and she concluded by wishing the club every success in 2007.
The Report was received with applause and after being proposed and seconded was adopted.
The next item was the Report of the club Treasurer Annette Sweeney. She outlined the Income and Expenditure for the Club in 2006. The costs involved in running GAA Club have risen dramatically in recent years. One item which was a cause for extreme concern was the escalating cost of Physiotherapy and Medical Treatment in the club and the manner in which the Insurance Scheme is administered. It was decided that the Club Finance Committee look at all of these matters and compare our situation with best practice in other clubs throughout the County. The Committee are the to report back with a set of Recommendation which will be implemented and adhered to for 2007.It was agreed that this would be completed well before the new playing season will commence. The Treasurer stressed the importance of the weekly Club Lotto which is the main source of income. The Treasurer’s Report was proposed . seconded and adopted.

East Cork Board Chairman then took charge for the Election of Officers for 2007. Gerard complimented the club for it’s displays in the last year and hoped for better in 2007. He paid special tribute to Tom Mulcahy and Brendan O Driscoll for their work as East Cork Board delegates throughout the past year.

The Membership Fees for 2007 will be as follows

Players EU 70.
Ordinary Club Members EU 40.
Students; EU 30.
