The Irish Athletic Third-level Boxing Association (IATBA) was founded in 2010 by a group of boxing enthusiasts, coaches, officials and graduates from third level educational institutions from across Ireland. The association was approved with the support of the Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA), and Ireland’s college and university sports officers. It was tasked with the promotion and development of Irish student boxing. It is the only university boxing organisation in Ireland recognised by Student Sport Ireland, formerly the Colleges and Universities Sports Association of Ireland (CUSAI).
