Air Ambulance carries out a mission at Edenderry GAA

November 8, 2018

Back in September 2012, the Air Ambulance landed at Edenderry GAA on a training exercise and was met by the local ambulance service.

This training exercise was designed to allow both crews select a location to meet in the event of the Air Ambulance being needed to respond to an emergency in the Edenderry area.

This morning such a case arose and the helicopter again landed at Edenderry GAA, this time to transfer a seriously ill patient to hospital.

Edenderry GAA are happy to report that the plan worked well as both crews found the location without delay and the patient was transferred to hospital in Dublin.

We are even happier to report that the patient, Edenderry GAA supporter, Umpire and Bingo player, Joe Swords arrived safely to hospital and after receiving emergency treatment is recovering well.

Our thoughts are with Joe, his wife Phil and their family at this time.
