Well the build up to the All Ireland is really on. This Saturday at famed Fraher Field in Dungarvan we have the ‘appetizer’ when Cork and Kilkenny meet in the Intermediate Hurling Final at 3.30pm. Liam Barry has been a selector with this very successful outfit over the last 3 years. Cork won the title in ’03 and ’04 and with a ‘new’ team got to the semi final last year where they were beaten by Galway. In this years Munster campaign Cork defeated Clare and Tipperary and had no All Ireland semi final game. Kilkenny waltzed through Leinster and then beat Galway well in the semi final. The Intermediate grade has been a great benefit to Cork in recent years with several of the present Cork senior team having played with the intermediates initially. Best of luck to Cork and to Liam and team trainer Michael Carey.
