On what was
a cold windy Good Friday night Athlone Town hosted Waterford United in
Lissywollen. Athlone dominated the first
half but failed to find the net. In the
second half Waterford
came into the game but failed to break down a resolute home defence. Man of the match as chosen by supporters was
Eric Lavine.

Athlone
went down 3-0 to Premier Division club Bray in the first round of the League
Cup. Athlone started without Ian Rossiter (Family Bereavement) and Davy Byrne
(Swollen Knee) but didn’t look out of place in the game until Bray took the
lead midway through the first half.
Further injuries to Jim Sheridan (Thigh) and Noel McGee (Groin) on the
night upset the balance of the team and Bray then took control.

Dermot Lennon has injury concerns with Jim Sheridan (thigh) a definite non
starter and Davy Byrne (knee) and Noel McGee(groin) both considered doubtful

7.30PM. Membership fee for 2008 is €25
and must be paid on or before 1st April.
Payment
will be accepted in the club office or by any committee member on match nights.
Only paid up members will be entitled to
vote on the night. All are welcome.
