Athlone Town Welcome Black Cats to Athlone Town Stadium

Athlone Town FC are delighted to announce Roy Keane’s Premiership Sunderland will be coming to Athlone this summer to take on “The Town” in glamour friendly in Athlone Town Stadium.

This game will take place on Thursday 7th August with a 7.30pm kick off and is sure to be a complete sell out.

Ticket prices and availability will be announced in the coming week through the local press and on our official website www.athlonetownfc.ie .

Next Match

Athlone Town play host to Mick Cookes Monaghan United on Saturday 31st May. Kick off 7.30pm. Manager Dermot Lennon will have to plan without Jim Sheridan and Robbie Hamm who are both serving one match suspensions for reaching 4 disciplinary points.

Athlone Town vs Finn Harps FAI Cup 3rd Round

The FAI Cup 3rd Round match between Athlone Town and Finn Harps will take place Friday 6th June with kick off at 7.45pm. Supporters please note season tickets are not valid for this game as per FAI rules. Admission Rates: Adult €15, Student (with valid ID) €10, Under 16 / OAP €5. Under 12’s Free (must be accompanied by a paying adult)

Hear the latest news twice weekly about Athlone Town FC by tuning into Midlands 103 (Athlone 95.4FM and Mullingar 96.5FM) Mondays at 2.30PM and Fridays at 12.30PM.

Listen into Athlone Community Radio on 101.6 FM from 4PM Sundays when Robbie Mulvey brings you all the latest news from the club including weekly player interviews.

It is planned to offer these interviews as podcasts on the soon to be available www.athlonetownfc.ie website.

Our new website www.athlonetownfc.ie is getting close to final testing stage and it is hoped that there will be a full launch mid July. Check in for updates.

Under 17s – Athlone Town 5 Lourdes Celtic 1

Athlone Town Under 17s now lead the DDSL league major Division 1 after an impressive 5-1 away demolition of Lourdes Celtic at the weekend. Next up is a visit to Dublin to play Knocklyon on Tuesday night. This will be followed by two home fixtures with opponents and dates to be announced.

Congratulations Nigel

Nigel Keady scored his first ever League of Ireland goal last Tuesday in the 1 – 1 draw against Waterford in what was his 210th appearance in league and cup. To make it a double celebration Nigel also celebrated his 29th birthday on last Saturday the 24th May.

Man of the Match

Do you agree with the experts choice? Nomination Forms available in the Town Bar.

Nomination forms must be left in the entry box situated in the bar / shop immediately after the match. Votes will be counted 10 minutes after the final whistle. A draw will take place among the entries received agreeing with the experts choice and they will get to present the winning player with the prize. The supporter will also receive a gift from the club. Winner must be present at the presentation to receive prize
