Athlone Town FC has slashed its admission prices for the coming season, in recognition of the difficult economic environment.
Standard adult admission ticket to home games in Lissywoollen will now
cost €10, down from €15 last season – and there are similar reductions
across all ticket prices.
The move was agreed at last week’s club management meeting.
The club said: “We all understand that money is tight and football
supporters will be watching their spending this year. It is the
unanimous view of the committee that we want the club to be accessible
and affordable to everyone who wants to attend.”
The club also confirmed that under 14s will receive free entry, if accompanied by an adult.
The club said: “We believe our admission prices are at a level that provides an inexpensive night’s entertainment.”
Athlone Town FC has also reduced its season ticket prices for the
2009 campaign. Adult season tickets are now available at €120 (a saving
of €50 over a 17-game league season)
“With our season tickets prices there is even greater value with an
adult season ticket working out at just over €7 per league game and
youths / OAPs and students paying just under €3 per league game”.
