Mayo Gaels GAA club have teemed up again with Bag2TheFuture to avail of a FREE fund-raising solution. Visit www.bag2thefuture.org to see their website and details.
Bag2TheFuture is not a charity. It is a business which specialises in collecting second-hand clothes in their original condition, which are sold to developing countries in Africa, the Indian sub-continent and parts of Eastern Europe. The majority of the clothing collected is shipped to wholesalers where they are sorted and sold to the general public via retailers. These countries are encouraging entrepreneurs to develop import markets and build up business structures, thus creating employment opportunities. They also have customers throughout the EU and in the UK they supply to small community based charity shops to provide them with products for their own fundraising.
Bag2TheFuture will give Mayo Gaels €5 for every 10KG of clothing collected.
Free collection bags are available from Alan Prendergast @ 087 9273200 but you can donate your clothing in any bag, ie a regular black refuse bag. Leave your bag into the clubhouse or gym or contact Alan for it to be collected.
The cut-off date for collections is the first home championship game on July21st
