Friday Church Services in Ballina:   After 10am Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed until 5pm.  Prayer of the Church and Benediction at 1.05pm.  Why not come along and pray awhile.   

Archdiocese Pilgrimage to Lough Derg (Dongeal) 2013:   This pilgrimage takes place from Saturday, August 3rd for three days.  More information from Mary Hennessy (087 6220772) or Bridget O’Driscoll (087 6305889).

Recently Deceased:   Remember in your prayers the soul of Evelyn King, Derrycastle whose funeral took place in Ballina recently.

Senior Citizen’s Annual Holiday:   This will take place from August 11th -16th in Lahinch.  Anybody wishing to travel should contact any member of the committee before July 27th.

Glenstal Ladies Retreat:   Tuesday, July 9th or Wednesday, July 10th.  This will be presided over by Abbot Mark Patrick Hererman.  Early booking is advised on 061 621005.

 Bike For Ballina: Please return sponsorship cards to your coaches or to club officers. The club wishes again to thank everyone for their support and help during our Bike For Ballina in partnership with Watermans Lodge. Thank you to Aaron and Cian in McKeogh’s for the light refreshments provided on both days of the fundraiser, also to the members who gave us their bikes for the marathon sessions. Results of challenges to follow when all sponsorhip cards are in.

Under 6s /u7s: There was a fantastic display of hurling in Newport last week. The youngest members of the club playing in a rain-soaked Newport – not sure if the boys even noticed. They all got stuck in and had great fun certainly stars of the future.

Sports Predictor Quiz: Following the French Open, John Ryan is out in front of the chasing pack, but with 63 entries selecting Tipperary, who are now out of the championship, there is still everything to play for.  Sports predictor quiz is sponsored by Simply Delicious Coffee Shop, Ballina.

Buy your Sod: Buy your sod in June and you could win a Voucher for Flanagans.  The fundraiser, to Turn Our Green Field Blue – Buy Your Sod, is well underway with the first 20 sods sold and certificates of ownership taking pride of place on mantle-pieces in the parish. Anyone who has bought a sod by June 30th will be in with a chance of winning a €70 voucher for Flanagans Bar & Restaurant in Ballina.

The target is to sell 1000 sods at €50 each. The land has been purchased, a grant of €56,000 towards development has been secured from the Sports Capital Grants 2012, and the diggers are on site!  Now the club needs to raise €50,000 to match funding to allow the pitch to be constructed in 2013. Sods may be purchased on line at www.ballina.tipperary.gaa.ie/buyasod or from the club shop or a committee member. Don’t miss out on the chance of putting your name on the sod.
