Wedding Bells: Congratulations to Luisa Kenny, Limerick and Gary McDonagh, Westport, who were married in Ballina Church recently.

North Final: Hard luck to our Intermediate Hurlers who gave a gritty performance last Saturday in the North Intermediate Final just a week after their defeat in the County Final. Despite missing three of their first choice players, they acquitted themselves very well and were three points ahead five minutes into the second half. However, Silvermines used their experience to fight back and a goal from their ace forward, Jason Forde, five minutes from the end sealed the game for them. Although not having any silverware on the table, it was still a good year for this team reaching two championship finals. The club would like to thank Mike Murphy and his management team on the trojan work done all year and the huge effort put in by this group of players.

Fashion Show: This show, which was held last Friday night in the Lakeside Hotel, proved to be a great success. All the models, most of whom were local, and including some of our Under 16 successful hurling champions, put on a stunning display of outfits from many shops. It proved to be a great night and the club would like to thank Sarah Devane for heading up the arrangements, ably assisted by Anne Sheehy and Millle O Connell. Thanks also to the shops and boutiques who participated, those who contributed prizes for the raffle, and last but not least the models who volunteered on the night.

Tipperary Co. Draw: Congratulations to Ger Slattery, Boher on winning €500 in the October draw. The next draw will be held Friday, Nov. 2nd.
