Friday Church Services in Ballina: After 10am Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed until 5pm. Prayer of the Church and Benediction at 1.05pm. Why not come along and pray awhile.

Feast of the Assumption: Wednesday, August 15th is the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses on Wednesday will be in Boher at 10.30am and in Ballina at 11.30am. Vigil Mass for this feast will be on Tuesday, August 14th at 6.30pm in Ballina Church. There will be no Mass at 10am on Tuesday morning.

Recently Baptised: We welcome into God’s family: Ryan Sean Darcy, 6 Ivy Grove, son of Rachel and John: Riain Colm Fogarty, 68 Cnoc Cluain, son of Grainne and Colin: Oran Michael Morgan, 14 Cnoc Cluain, son of Yvonne and Alan: who were baptized in Ballina Church recently.

Recently Deceased: We ask you to remember in your prayers to souls of John O’Neill, Caherelly Close, Ballina and Kathleen Floyd, Birdhill, who died recently.

Feast Day of St. Lua: Sincerest thanks to all who attended and all who made this day on Monday last such a success. St. Lua’s day drew a large crowd to Friar’s Island prior to the facilitating of the Shannon Electricity Scheme. It is hoped that this tradition can be revived under the new format which emerged on Monday.

Boher Choir’s Invitation to Knock: Boher Choir has accepted an invite to lead the Liturgical Singing at the celebration of the Eucharist in Knock on Sunday, August 26th at 12pm. The choir was extended this invitation previously but this is the first occasion where they have been privileged to be in a position to carry out their ministry at Our Lady’s Shrine. Camp For Champs: A reminder that the Camp for Champs with Shane McGrath will take place at the Club Grounds from August 13th to August 17th from 10.00am to 2.30pm. The children will be coached by county stars from both Tipperary and Clare including Shane McGrath, John O’Keeffe, Noel McGrath,
Brendan Maher and Clare’s, Sean Collins. There will also be special guests arriving during the week. In addition there will be one hour skills sessions for older juveniles over 14 years. These will take place on August 14th and 16th from 3pm – 4pm on both days

Sympathy: The club would like to extend its sympathy to the Floyd and McKeogh families on the death of Kathleen Floyd, Birdhill. Ar dheis de gur raibh a anam dilis.
