Report:
It was a bright but cool evening – which was probably perfect for football. The visitors were Ratoath as Ballivor sought to build on their recent good form with a third successive victory that would probably be good enough to see them qualify for the league semi’s. As it happened, Ballivor were quick off the mark and scored early but in a tight first half, Ratoath finished the half with a slender lead. IBallivor were much more focussed in the second half and began to dominate the key areas around midfield. ratoath maintained the lead for a while as Ballivor were somewhat wasteful in front of goal but ev entually their pressure began to pay dividends with a goal and some sweet points. However Ratoath were never out of it and kept the pressure on with a goal of their own and some good defensive work from Ballivor prevented them being pegged back even further. A late goal made the margin 4 points followed by a last score and Ballivor had gottent their third victory that should see them into the semi final. They were the better team on the day and look now to have some momentum that hopefully will continue.
