Ballygarvan 1-10 Kinsale 3-11

Ballygarvan and Kinsale played out a very entertaining match under lights in the first hurling league game of the year. Ballygarvan started slowly and Kinsale led by 2-5 to 0-0 after 12 minutes. Ballygarvan however, found their form and dominated the remainder of the half. Points from Donal Sweeney, Mark O’Callaghan and Tadgh Quilligan reduced the defecit, before Timmy O’Halloran found the back of the net, to leave the half time score 2-7 to 1-6, in favour of the visitors.

Early second half points from Tadgh Quilligan reduced the defecit to one point, but Kinsale found their second win, and added a few nice points at the finish.

For Ballygarvan, this was a very encouraging start to the season for our mainly young team, and surely better days lie ahead.
