Barna GAA are sad to advise of the passing of Pat Fallon Boleybeg

November 8, 2018

Barna GAA are sad to advise of the passing of Pat Fallon Boleybeg. Pat served as the club’s Coaching Officer for many years and played a pivotal role in the development of it’s juvenile structures. One of his key strengths was the coaching of the fundamental skills of the game at foundation level and ensuring every player received equal opportunity and playing time. He actively recruited new coaches and parents to get involved in the club and to further their own knowledge and qualifications through the completion of GAA courses. Always innovative in his thinking, Pat introduced the Annual Coaches Night in the Club where National GAA personalities such as Tyrone’s Mickey Harte and Kerrys Pat O’Shea and Dara O’Cinnede were invited to speak to the club coaches on their experience in the game. Pat was always a proud Castlerea St Kevin’s and Roscommon man but loved Barna GAA club deeply and took great pride on its various successes over the years. He brought passion, energy and enthusiasm to his coaching within the club and was so proud to have his sons Francis and James playing for Barna. As a club we extend our deepest sympathies to Breda, Mairéad, Francis, James and his wider family circle on their sad loss . In addition we wish to express our sincerest gratitude for the significant work Pat put into juvenile football development in the club over many years. His contribution and influence within Barna GAA Club will never be forgotten. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis
