B-I-O G.A.A Club notes The intermediates had a great win over Clonad on Sunday last in their division two campaign. It was a close game with scoring high on both sides. John Kavanagh opened the scoring for Borris with points from Martin Coss, Tony Doran and Adrian Cullinane and two well placed goals and a point from Neil Foyle leaving the half time score at 2-8 to 8pts in favour of Borris Clonad four more points in the second half but left Borris to pull away in the end with scores from Martin Coss, Tony Doran Neil foyle and Enda Kelly. Full time score Borris 3-16 Clonad 12pts. The club would like to congratulate Borris in ossory Convent of Mercy Hurling team and Killadooley N.S team on reaching the Cumann na Mbunscoil finals in Portlaoise , both teams unfortunately lost out on the day but are already looking forward to next year. Club leisurewear including jackets, polo shirts and jersey’s are still available from Eoin Phelan 086 6012371. Preparations are well underway for the Feile which is being held in Laois/Offaly this year. Borris in ossory are hosting St. Johns Club for the weekend of the 20th June. Much work has already been done to improve conditions in O’ Keeffe park for the forthcoming Feile and all involved must be comended on their great work. Congratulations to Mike Rafter who won 500 euro in the final County Board and Clubs draw. Thanks again to all who bought and sold tickets on behalf of the club. At a recent committee meeting a vote of sympathy was passed for the relatives of the late Johnny Cooke and also Hannah Geoghan.
