Junior Football C’Ship on Sunday.
We play the first round of the East Cork Junior A Grade Football Championship on next Sunday March 28th. Our opposition will be Carrignavar and the venue if Glenville at 3pm. A few years back we played Carrignavar in two J F League finals, winning one and losing one. In 2008 Carrig also beat us in the League final.
This year of course we have been relegated to Div 2 of the JFL while Carrig are still one of the top teams in the First Division. We recently won the much delayed 20089 JBFC final and several of that winning side will line out on Sunday next. Carrignavar will start as favourites as they are always in top form at this time of the season and are going well in the top flight of the League winning 5 of their 6 games to date. This will be a major challenge for our side with not a lot of football training done.
Senior League Game Off.
Our scheduled game v Glen Rovers in the Glen field last Friday night was called off when the referee deemed the pitch to be unplayable after the very heavy rain. With our SHC game v St Finbarrs just nine weeks away this was a disappointment as it was hoped that all clubs would have at least 8 games played before the end of May. Our next game is V Blackrock at Church Road on Sunday April 4th at 11.30.
Minor Hurlers Defeated.
On Sunday morning last our Minor Hurlers had their first outing for 2010. They travelled to Ballyhea to take on the home side in a challenge game. The North Cork boys won on a
Scoreline of 4 14 to 1 11. We have a game v St Catherines in Ballynoe under lights this Thursday night March 25th at 8pm.

The Munster final of Scór Sinnsear took place last Sunday. Unfortunately Cork clubs had no success. Imokilly Division was represented by Cloyne (Who beat us in the Co. Final) in the Novelty Act. They performed well but Abbeydorney from Kerry took the Provincial Title.
Cork Unbeaten
The Cork Hurlers are still unbeaten in the National League. At Walsh Park last Sunday the Rebels looked likely winners until Eoin Kelly with a last gasp point equalised for Waterford. Cork are away to Dublin next Sunday, at home to Tipp on April 4th and away to Galway on April 18th.
