Senior Hurlers defeated, playing again at weekend.
At Watergrasshill on Friday night last we took on Na Piarsaigh in the first round of the 2011 Co SHC. The first ten minutes of the game had a huge bearing on the outcome as the city side raced into a 1 2 to no score lead. Barry Johnson had our first point in the 13th minute but we added just a further two in the half to leave us 1 8 to 0 3 behind at the break. We played much better in the second half and a Sean Ryan goal brought us right back into contention. Just three points seperated the sided with a quarte of an houre to go, 1 10 to 1 7. We failed to keep up the momentum and were outscored by 6 points to 3 in the last quarter and so lost by 1 16 to 1 10. It was a very dissapointing result especially our performance in the opening thirty minutes.

We’ve little to time for recovery as we face Erins Own in Riverstown on this Saturday coming at 7.30 in a very tough Round Two game. Both teams lost last weekend so it’s a big ask to go out again so soon but all we can do is to give it a right lash and hope for a big performance from each and every player.
