Bride Rovers GAA Club Notes For The Week.

November 8, 2018

Snooker a Big Hit
Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor drew the crowds to SG1 Club in Fermoy on Monday last. The night was a great success both socially and financially. Great credit to the very hard working sub-committee who worked tirelessly over the last month to ensure that everything went well. Thanks to all those who purchased tickets and took part in the auction on the night. Though its 25 years since Steve and Dennis were on every TV screen all over the world, they’ve lost none of their style and charisma. They were very popular and affable with the crowd, young and old.

Scór Co. Final
We took part in the Nuachleas (Novelty Act) in the Senior Scór County Final in Ovens on last Sunday night. Our opponents were Cloyne and Millstreet. In the Imokilly Final a few weeks ago, we had beaten Cloyne but on Sunday night the roles were reversed and Cloyne were the county winners. They now represent Cork in the Munster semi final in Millstreet on March 6th and we wish them all the best in their quest for Provincial and All Ireland honours.

Junior Football League
Having won the opening series of games we suffered our first defeat in the Junior Football League on Sunday last. Away to Castlemartyr we lost on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-9
The team and scorers from last Sunday were: George Johnson,  Jim O’ Connor,  Trevor Maloney, Steven Pratt, Michael Kearney, Liam Forde, Pat Walsh, Sean Ryan (0-02), Michael Collins, Sean O’ Brien (0-03), Conor McIlvernny, Donal Ryan, Alan O’ Keefe (0-03), Terry Broderick (0-01), John O’ Dowd.
