Senior Hurling League
In balmy conditions on Friday night last our senior hurlers faced Na Piarsaigh in the RED FM Co Senior Hurling League. It was a close enough game for most of the hour. The Farranree side raised the only green flag of the hour and that served to put daylight between the sides. The final scoreline was
Bride Rovers 0.15 Na Piarsigh 1-18
Team; D FITZGERALD, D CARR, B WALSH, S KEARNEY, K COLLINS, B MURPHY, P WALSH, M KEARNEY, J PRATT, E MURPHY, B O DRISCOLL, D DOOLEY, T BRODERICK, J MANNIX
SUBS USED: J O’DRISCOLL, P MURPHY, S HACKETT, T O’SULLIVAN .

On this coming Friday morning, July 19th we will know who our opponents in the County Senior Hurling championship will be. Douglas and St. Finbarrs play the last Round 2 game ion Thursday night so the situation will be a bit clearer by then.

Cavanaghs of Fermoy Junior Hurling League Division 1.
We played our final game in this League last Tuesday a when Cobh were the visitors to Pairc Na Bride.
We commenced this game minus four of our championship team due to injuries and work commitments. Having conceded two early points we got into the game with a goal by Alan O Keefe and this was followed by excellent points from Richie, Owen and Stephen. We played some good hurling and led by 2-5 to 0-8 at half-time. Cobh started the second half brightly and had us on the back foot for the next 15 minutes and scored some excellent points from play and frees. With 10 minutes to go we found ourselves 7 points down but our never say die attitude came to the fore and a good point from Owen followed by a second goal from Alan following good play by Stephen had Cobh on the rack. We gave our full panel on the night a run out and within the last minute Gavin slipped his man and buried the ball in the Cobh net to give us a deserved draw on a final score of 4-8 to 1-17.
Panel: Frank Hogan, Tadgh O’Sullivan, Brian Collins, Podge Noonan, Fergus Collins, Donnchadha Carr, Barry Collins, Stephen Boyce, Gavin O’Flynn, William Finnegan, Richie Cahill, Owen Murphy, Alan O’Keeffe, Stephen Hackett, Darren Moore. Damien Buckley, Sean Cotter, Gavin Quill, Enda Collins, James Barry.
Scorers: Alan O’Keeffe 2-0, Stephen Hackett 1-0, Owen Murphy 0-4, Stephen Boyce 0-2, Gavin Quill 1-0, Richie Cahill 0-1, Gavin O’Flynn 0-1.
Across the Junior Hurling League and Championship this year, 11 games, we have used some 30 players and had some ups and downs but the experience secured by the younger players on the panel has to be good for the club and we are happy to maintain our Division 1 status for the year ahead. A special word of thanks to the wonderful commitment of the players. They have to be thanked for their dedication and support over the past 5 months. In four of the eleven games just a single point separated us from victory. Many of the panel are also on the Senior and U21 panels so we look forward to these games.
