Bride Rovers GAA Club notes & news round-up for the week.

Good Luck Girls.

This week we join with the Camogie and Ladies Football Club and all the parish in extending best wishes to the three girls involved with Cork on Sunday. As the Senior Cork Ladies Football team go in search of another All Ireland title we are honoured to have Eleanor Ahern, Grace Kearney and Jennifer Barry representing the club and parish. We wish the girls all the very best for a great day. Safe travelling to the many supporters travelling up to Croke Park for the game. Kerry are the opposition and though Cork are favourites the Kingdom girls can be relied upon to provide tough opposition on the day.

Junior C Hurlers to meet Midleton

Our opposition in the semi final of the East Cork Junior C Grade Hurling championship will be provided by Midleton. The Magpies defeated Lisgoold by 2 5 to 16 at the weekend. At the time of writing no definite date has been pencilled in yet for the game.

Last Senior League Game.

We are fixed to play St. Finbarrs in Rathcormac on Saturday next October the 6th at 4pm. We are out of contention in the SHL though all clubs that fulfil all their games will be entered in a draw.

Cork GAA Members Draw 2012/2013.

The Cork GAA Members draw for the next twelve months will commence at the end of October. The Cost of the Ticket for the Draw is €100 a year and approx 40% of that comes directly to the club. There are fantastic prizes on offer including cars, holidays and cash prizes. Full details from Club Members

CAR BOOT SALE.

The next Car Boot Sale is on Sunday October the 14th. We are constantly seeking new volunteers top help on the day so if you can give even just one hour please contact any club officer.

The Bride Rovers GAA Club website www.briderovers.ie is proving popular at home and abroad. If you have any ideas for improving the website or suggestions for additions please contact us. Well done to Gerard Lane for uploading photos so quickly last weekend and on the Bride Rovers Site being nominated as Website of the Week . In September the Site had over 5000 ‘hits’.

Best Wishes

Everyone in the Club extends the very best of wishes to Barry Murphy and Evelyn Kearney on the occasion of their marriage this week. Barry has been an outstanding hurler and footballer with the club for many years and we wish himself and Evelyn a very happy life together.

Co Semi Final.

Thanks to Club members who helped out with the Co PIFC semi final last Saturday. St. Michaels defeated Mallow by 3 8 to 0 11 and now meet St. Vincents in the County Final

County Senior Hurling Final.

Next Sunday is also Cork County Senior Hurling Final day. Best wishes to East Cork side Sars in the Final v Bishopstown.

SET DANCING.

Set Dancing Classes for the autumn have recommenced in the Rathcormac Inn. The classes are held each Wednesday night commencing at 8.30pm.
