A total of 250 participants took part and for a first running this was a very strong showing. On the day over fifty Club Members and friends were on duty for stewarding, car parking ,marshalling and catering. Thanks to one and all who turned out to help with this fundraiser. Special thanks to  sponsors Jump Juice and also to TVM of Bartlemy for the Public Address. Great credit is due to all who helped organise this Race especially Terry Broderick and James Bermingham. Cavanaghs  Garage Imokilly/ Avondhu JHL.

Newtownshandrum travelled to Pairc Na Bhride on Wednesday last for our fifth game in the Cavanaghs sponsored Inter Divisional JHL..

Our concern initially was would we have 15 players to fulfill the fixture due to injuries but eventually we had 15 players.

Once again we were slow to start and went 2 points into arrears, we settled down and with some good passing movements we scored 1-2 from play, Alan O Keeffe followed this with a further goal before the half-time whistle and we were then deprived of a 3rd goal when their cul-bara dropped the ball and Alan drove to the net. At half-time we led by 2-2 to 0-5.

Newtown opened the 2nd half brightly and had 5 points from play followed by a goal giving them the lead by 1-10 to 2-2. We fought back to score 3 points but they eventually won by 1-14 to 2-5.

The display on the night was heartening and the players present showed pride in the jersey.
