Junior Footballers Win

Our 2012 East Cork Junior Football Championship Campaign opened last Friday night under the lights in Carrigtwohill. For the last few years we had suffered narrow defeats in our first round ties so it was with a degree of trepidation that the team travelled to take on Aghada in the first round. While this was Aghada’s second team they are the most successful football club in East Cork. We entered the game after four league games in the East Cork Division 2 of the JFL with two wins and two defeats. In Carrig on Friday night the team produced a fine brand of attacking football and in total six players contributed to our score-sheet. The teams were level Bride Rovers 1 2 to Aghada 0 5 at half time. Goals from Alan O Keeffe and sub Padraig Murphy helped us to a merited victory over Aghada on a final scoreline of; Bride Rovers 2-7 Aghada 0-10
