EAST CORK JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

Bride Rovers Junior footballers continued with their league campaign with two games this week. They travelled to Fouhy Park on Wednesday last to play the hosts Glenville under lights. This was the home Club’s ‘second string’ so the resultant loss was very disappointing. We  failed to take our chances and came up short on a score line of 1-04 to 11points.

The team and scorers were, Frank Hogan, Jim O’ Connor, Brinnie O’Driscoll, Gavin Flynn, Donnacha Carr, Liam Forde, Adrian Buckley, Shane Kearney, Michael Kearney, Kieran Wolfe, Barry Johnson (0-02), Stephen Boyce (0-01), Jacob Macak (1-0), Ritchie Cahill (0-01) and Liam O’Leary. Subs Used: Daniel Dooley and Richard Foley.

On Sunday afternoon we had our first home game and our first daylight game in this years JFL campaign against Castlemartyr and got back to winning ways with a scoreline of 0-09points to 0-04. The team and scorers were Frank Hogan, Jacob Macak, Brinnie O’Driscoll, Fergus Collins, Shane Kearney (0-02), Jason Pratt, Adrian Buckley, Liam Forde, Michael Kearney, Jason Mannix, Terry Broderick (0-01), Sean O’Brien (0-03), Steven O’Leary, Alan O’Keefe and Colm O’Keefe(0-03). Subs Used: Damien Buckley.

We have a game to pick up against Dungourney and hopefully this will be slotted in some night next week. Our JAFC first round game will be played within a fortnight or so.

Senior Hurling Challenge v Courcey Rovers

Our  Senior Hurlers continued their preparation for the new season with a 10 point win over Courcey Rovers on Saturday last in Rathcormac.
The Rovers led 2-08 to 0-09 at the interval, this lead was as a result  of two fine goals from Barry Johnson & Colm O’Keeffe as the Courcey Rovers forwards kept our backs busy and scored some good points. The Rovers started the second half well as Barry Johnson notched his second goal from a 21 metre free. Further points from Daniel Dooley, Jerome O’Driscoll & Jason Mannix ensured a Rovers win on a scoreline of 3-13 to 0-12.
Next game for Seniors is on Sunday March 4th when Tipperary side Mullinahone  will be visitors to Rathcormac at 1pm.
