Bride Rovers GAA Club notes & news round-up for the week.

November 8, 2018

Weather The Spoilsport Again.

We might be heading close to the first of May but the weather is still playing havoc with sports fixtures. With wind and rain in the south last weekend many fixtures were called off. Our Red FM Senior Hurling League fixture against Ballymartle on Sunday night went by the wayside. The game was fixed for the Kilworth venue but had to be cancelled. At the time of writing no date for the game has been announced.

On this Friday night coming April 19th we are at home to Glen Rovers in Pairc na Bride at 7pm in our third League game of the season.

County JBFC.

Our first round game in the Cork County Junior B Grade Football championship against Lough Rovers has been fixed for Saturday week April 27th. The tie is pencilled in for Riverstown at 7pm.

Minor Hurling League

Our Minor Hurlers have three game coming up  with the first game on tonight Thursday April 18th, at home to Cobh at 6.30pm.

On Wednesday of next week we are away to Brian Dillons and the followeing week, the first week of May we have St. Vincents at home.

CAR BOOT SALE

The next Car Boot Sale in aid of the Parish Development Fund is on Sunday week April the 28th. If you can spare an hour or two on the day to help out it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Club Officers if you are free on the day. A reminder also that items for the Parish Stall will be accepted on the morning of Saturday April 27th.

Confirmation

Best wishes to all those in the parish who will be receiving the Sacrament of Conformation on next Thursday April 24th.

RATHCORMAC N.S. REUNION

Plans for a Rathcormac National School are underway. September the 13th and 14th are the days planned for the event. Regular organisational meetings are now being held so all past pupils try and help out especially with information on those left the parish. This year 2013 is the Year of the Gathering when visitors are being welcomed home from abroad to events all over the country.

PARISH MINI-MISSION

The Parish pastoral Council are organising a Mini Mission in Rathcormac Church this weekend, from Thursday to Saturday . Hopefully the Mission will be a great success. The ceremonies are at 8pm each night.

CORK GO DOWN

After extra time in a high scoring shoot out at the Limerick Gaelic Grounds last Sunday Cork hurlers were relegated to Division 1B of the NHL for 2014. It was a game that could have goner either way but Clare finished both the game and the extra time strongly. If Clare beat Waterford in the Munster Championship then Cork will have a chance to reverse the result in the Munster Semi Final in June.
