FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR 2012.
It’s still only the month of January but it’s a case of all hands on deck with teams in all grades back training by night and by day. Such a change from this time last year when we were still frozen in and thoughts of hurling and football games were far, far away. We can now really fully appreciate the value of having the floodlit, all weather training facility which is invaluable at this time of year. The first Fixture ratified for the 2012 playing season is a Minor Football League game on Saturday week February 4th, away to Cloyne at 2 O’Clock.
SENIOR SCÓR.
The East Cork Final of the Senior Scor Competition takes place on Sunday night next January 29th in Lisgoold at 7pm. Unfortunately interest in the Scor Competition at adult level has waned in recent years. He Bride Rovers Club hope to have an entry in at least some of the eight competitions on the night. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Gerard Lane, John Arnold or Club Runai Liam Barry.
MEETINGS.
The next Bride Rovers Club Executive Meeting is on Monday January the 30th. The following night Tuesday January 31st sees the first meeting for 2012 of the Cork County Board. The first meeting of the Cork Senior Hurling Clubs League Committee is on Thursday January 26th at the Sars Pavilion at 7.30pm.
VICTORY DINNER.
The Ladies Football and Camogie Club hold their Victory Dinner in the Vienna Woods Hotel on Saturday next January 28th. 2011 was a marvellous season for the girls at all levels.
