Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club notes.

U16 East Cork Ladies Football

Saturday, February 9, Pynes.

Bride Rovers 3-10 Aghada 1-3.

Our U16s bounced back from an opening round defeat in Fermoy to gain their first win of the season against Aghada. It should be said that the visitors were without the talismanic Hannah Looney but this was still a very good display and one full of promise for the future from our girls. Michelle Lane and Jessica Howard combined well on the right wing of our attack right from the start and many of our scores came from that area. Elaine Culloty was busy at full-forward, proved a handful for the very experienced Cassie Tynan, and finished with a personal score of 1-2 from play on the day. At the back, Margaret Kearney, Grainne Noonan, Aine Cashman and Laura Quirke impressed throughout also in a backline which dealt with most of the many Aghada attacks that came their way. To be fair though, this was a real full panel effort, involving not only the starting 15 but also all the subs who came on and played their part.

Panel : Madison Parle, Maria O’Sullivan, Aine Cashman, Sarah O Flynn, Margaret Kearney, Laura Quirke (1-1), Grainne Noonan, Niamh Murphy, Karen Sheehan (1-2), Grace Culloty (0-3), Aoife Deasy, Michelle Lane (0-2), Laura Pratt, Elaine Culloty (1-2), Jessica Howard, Meg Kelliher, Emma Hazelwood, Emma Barry, Shauna O’Connell, Aisling Finnegan.
