U21 Football

Sunday, October 21.

Naomh Aban 3-4              Bride Rovers 3-15

We overcame the quarter-final hurdle in the 2012 U21 championship last Sunday when we travelled to Ballyvourney and had a good win over the home side. We made good use of a strong wind in the first half and enjoyed an eleven point lead at the break. Naomh Aban rallied in the second half, aided by a couple of early goals, and it looked like a serious challenge would materialise when they were awarded a penalty that would have brought the deficit down to two points. However, our goalie Madison Parle was up to the task and pulled off a great save. We then quickly scored 1-1 at the other end and ran out decisive winners in the end. We now face Valley Rovers, who recently beat us in the U16 county championship, in the semi-final.
