U21 Ladies Football County Championship Semi-FinalBanteer 3-7 Bride Rovers 3-14Our U21s qualified for a county final for the second year in a row at Banteer on Sunday, November 27th but post-match celebrations were muted, to say the least, because of the serious leg injury suffered by our goalkeeper Eadaoin Cashman during the second half of the game. Eadaoin had put in another excellent performance and indeed had just made another very brave save when she was unfortunately involved in an accidental collision. We were generally on top in the game, leading by 14 points when the stoppage occurred, and while the players on the field were understandably affected by the injury, they did see out the game for a 7 point win. Eadaoin and her family are fantastic supporters of the club and everyone was very distressed by what happened. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to her pulling on the Rovers jersey again in the future. Eadaoin’s unavailability for the final is a blow, especially given her recent form, but I’m sure the rest of the panel will now try to go one step further than last year and win this county championship for her as much as anything else.Match Panel : Eadaoin Cashman, Aine Cashman, Catherine Power, Maria Barry, Mary Hazelwood, Jennifer Barry, Carol Noonan, Clare Murphy, Eleanor Ahern, Sinead Walsh (0-6), Grace Kearney (2-5), Jennifer Cahill (0-3), Katie Connor (1-0), Patricia O Sullivan, Erin O Keeffe, Elaine Culloty, Dayna Connolly, Rebecca Howard.
