Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club notes.

November 8, 2018

Ladies Football Senior All-Ireland Champions

Congratulations to the Cork senior ladies footballers who captured the 2011 crown in exciting fashion against a high-calibre and determined Monaghan outfit. Bride Rovers Ladies Football and Camogie Club are especially proud of Grace Kearney and Eleanor Ahern who bring back senior ladies medals to Rathcormac and Bartlemy for the first time. These two players are splendid examples to all of us, especially to our developing players and it’s fantastic to have such great role models in our own club. Support from the club was not lacking in Croke Park on the day and a very enjoyable day was had by all. I have attended very many finals over the years but I have to say the atmosphere in the stadium on the Ladies final day is very special indeed and I would encourage anyone who has never experienced it to give it a chance next year.

Intermediate Football

Our Intermediate Footballers are in action in Tipperary town next Saturday, October 1st at 1pm when Shannon Gaels of Clare are the opposition in the Munster semi-final. The girls are just one step away from a Munster Final and your support on the day is very much needed and appreciated. Please note that some steps have to be climbed to get access to Sean Tracey Park in Tipperary town.

Junior Camogie

Our Junior Camogie Team bid for a County title next Sunday, October 2nd when they face Ballinascarthy in Mahon at 11:30am. The very best of luck to all the panel and mentors who have been very consistent and dedicated all season. These big games are coming at us very fast now but please come out in numbers to support our girls as they strive to bring even more glory to the club.

U16 Camogie

Our U16 camogie team bounced back from defeat in the County league final when they recorded a handsome win in Cobh in the County Championship on Wednesday, September 21st. Training continues in earnest for the next round.

U16 Ladies Football

Our U16 footballers exited the County Championship at Quarter-Final stage at the hands of Beara on Saturday, September 24th. The match, played at Diarmuid O Mathuna’s pitch, never went our way from the start but we should not take away from Beara who put in a great performance throughout. Commiserations to all our panel who tried their hardest right to the end and who now have the East Cork Championship to prepare for.
