Bride Rovers Ladies Football & Camogie Club notes.

November 8, 2018

Intermediate Football
Bride Rovers intermediate team have got off to the best possible start with two league wins out of two. This is the team’s second year playing in the division just below senior clubs of the county.  The girls had a very comprehensive win over Kildorrery in their home venue on Wednesday 23rd March winning 1.14 to 1.7. This was a physical contest with little between the sides for much of the game.  Having only 16 players available on the night it was a more than satisfactory display and great to secure maximum points in the opening game.  St Vals were the opposition on home soil on Sunday 27th.  Numbers were higher for this game and the girls ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 1.20 to 7 points.  We wish a speedy recovery to all the girls that have picked up knocks and injuries over the last number of weeks.  Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7pm. The league has us scheduled for one game per week for the next number of weeks and Eire Og are our opposition next Sunday April 3rd at 3pm in Rathcormac.  Support as always is appreciated.

U16 Ladies Football

Sunday, March 20th. U16 East Cork Ladies Football League.
Bride Rovers 4-8             Fermoy 2-11.

Our U16s enjoyed an exciting win over Fermoy at Rathcormac on Sunday, March 20th  on a scoreline of 4-8 to 2-11. Our girls had the better of the first half and led by nine points at half-time, having goaled three times. Fermoy fought back strongly in the second half though and fitness levels were tested to the limit. A fine fourth goal near the end from Patricia O Sullivan was enough to secure victory though.

Upcoming fixtures (to be confirmed by team management) : U16 East Cork Ladies Football League  – Bride Rovers vs Carrigtwohill, Saturday, April 2nd and Bride Rovers vs Inch Rovers, Saturday, April 9th.

U14 Ladies Football

Monday, March 28th. U14 East Cork Ladies Football League.
Carrigtwohill           0-2     Bride Rovers 4-12.

Bride Rovers U14 girls enjoyed a very comfortable victory at Carrigtwohill last Monday night. Early goals from Laura Quirke, Elaine Culloty, Emma Roche and Karen Sheehan, along with a flurry of points, effectively killed off the game as a contest and left a mountain for Carrigtwohill to climb. Defence was very tight throughout also and scores conceded were at a minimum.
