Last weekend
was a busy one for Fr. Murphy’s Camogie and Ladies Football Club, with games in
both senior camogie and football championship. Saturday saw the second round of
the camogie championship where Fr. Murphy’s hoped to build on their opening
round defeat at the hands of Bros. Pearse.
They faced
Fr. Murphy’s
came out fighting at the start of the second half, however, and fought hard to
pull back a few good scores. Although
Although this
is Fr. Murphy’s second defeat in the group stages of the senior championship,
the girls can take much from their performance. Next up is Croydon on 20th
June in the final group game.
Sunday saw the
football championship kick off and Fr. Murphy’s faced newly promoted Holloway
Gaels. The 2007 and 2008 champions lined out with only 13 players but put in a
spirited performance to win on a score line of 5-15 to 1-04. A great start to
the football championship for the girls in purple and gold!
