Club Coaching Workshops

A very successful Coaching Workshop & Hurling Review were held in the GAA Centre on Tuesday 17th of January. Both events were attended in large numbers and many issues were discussed. The next instalment of workshops will be held on Tuesday 31st of January.

The first workshop dealt with an introduction to National Best Practice Standards and gave an overview of where the Club wishes to go in terms of coaching for 2012. Plans for coach education programmes for 2012 were also outlined.

The Hurling Review dealt with 3 of 6 topics up for discussion. Working in groups, the members present highlighted their ambitions for hurling in the club in 2012 and beyond. The 3 topics dealt with were Hurling in Schools, the Promotion of Hurling in the Club and a strategy for the recruitment of additional coaches and personnel.

8pm – 9pm will deal with the following issues;
The Procedure for the Appointment of Coaches in 2012

Issues in relation to equipment and facilities

9pm – 10pm will deal with the following issues in relation to Hurling
Equipment
Dual Players
Involving Surronding Clubs
