The Seniors & Juniors both opened their seasons with a rewarding trip to Mullagh on Sunday to face Cuchullainns. First up were the Seniors, who gained a 3-9 to 1-6 victory, thanks to a super second half hat-trick by full forward, Ryan McCormack.  The Juniors then followed up with an impressive 2-13 to 0-3 start to the season.

Next up is another double header down the Park next Sunday against Drumlane at 2pm & 3.30pm. At the moment, the Juniors are meant to be the first match, but naturally enough, that could well change! So after you’ve taken your Mammy out for dinner, for not take a trip down the hill and watch the games, I’m sure she will love it……

Well done to the Cavan U-21’s who beat Donegal in the Ulster Championship on Wednesday night and are now into the Ulster Final for the second year in a row. The final is fixed for Wednesday 13th April although venue & opponents are not yet known. Senior Players, Shane Gray, Barry Reilly, Colm Smith & Barry Tully all feature on the panel so if you can make it to the final next month, please try and go and support the lads and the county as they continue to give Cavan GAA a well overdue boost.

The Minors will look to make it four wins on the bounce when they visit Ballyhaise on Saturday (2nd) @ 4.15pm.  Once again, the time of this game may will change, so best check with players or management nearer the day if you are planning a trip to it.

The Underage info is slowly starting to feed through. The 12s start tonight (28th) away to Shercock at 6.30pm. The 14s start on Thursday (31st) away to Castletara and the Girls season opened at the weekend with Pat Farrelly’s side gaining a good victory over Munterconnacht down the Park.

No details on any of their next matches yet but hope to have it on later in the week.  If it ain’t up on it, kids get on to your managers and tell them to sort it out!!!

Underage hurling will start up again on Monday 4th April from 6pm-7pm down in the Park. These sessions are at absolute beginner levels for both players and coaches so if anyone is interested in either playing or coaching, please contact Willie Gaughan on 086 1649820 or be down the Park at the above time.

Last chance to pay 2011 club membership as it’s due before 31st March.  In an effort to increase membership, and also to get rid of the remaining few 2011 calendars, the club are giving away a FREE club calendar to anyone who either registers their club membership online or else plays an auto-renewal ticket for the club lotto online.

Membership remains the same at €50 for players (€30 for Students/Unemployed) and €20 for Juvenile or Non-Players. Remember this membership fee not only protects all members, but along with the lotto, it also ensures the club can continue to field the ever increasing volume of teams that it does, so please sign up ASAP.If online membership or lotto ain’t your thing, you can of course just pay your various team managers or captains or pop into Pat Faulkner, M&F or any committee member.

Week Six continues in this week. The cost is just €3 per week with 1st prize winning/sharing  €100.
