SENIORS & JUNIORS

After many weeks of training and challenge matches, both the Seniors and Juniors open their league seasons in a double header away to Cuchullains on Sunday 27th March. Two tough matches can be expected but everyone is very much looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, so why not make the short trip over to Mullagh for one or both games and maintain the level of support the sides got during last year’s championship.

Juniors are at 2pm and Seniors at 3.30pm, or at least that’s the plan at the moment….. Following this, it’s a double header at home to Drumlane on Sunday 3rd April.

On Wednesday night in Murtaghs, at least 10  members of the Senior & Junior panels took part in the “Shave or Dye” campaign.  This fundraising event for the Irish Cancer Society proved a resounding success with the lads (and some volunteers on the night) opted to shave, dye, or in some cases, both!!  A huge thanks you to this who took part and donated on both the night, and during the parade the next day.

U-21’S

Well done to the Cavan U-21’s who beat Fermanagh in the Ulster Championship on Wednesday night and will now face a rematch of last year’s Final, v Donegal, again in Enniskillen, this Wednesday at 8pm. Senior Players, Shane Gray, Barry Reilly, Colm Smith & Barry Tully all feature on the panel so if you can make it to Enniskillen on Wednesday to support the side, please do so.

MINORS

The Minors continued their decent form with victory away to Bailieboro at the weekend. With the Ulster Minor League in action over the coming two weeks there are no scheduled matches, but our postponed match v Castlerahan may yet be fixed during this period.  Details on that, and next confirmed match will be in next week’s notes hopefully.

HURLING

Underage hurling will start up again shortly within the club.  Again these sessions are at absolute beginner levels for both players and coaches so if anyone is interested in either playing or coaching, please contact Willie Gaughan on 086 1649820.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP

2011 club membership is due and must be paid before 31st March so this is your last chance.  In an effort to increase membership, and also to get rid of the remaining few 2011 calendars, the club are giving away a FREE club calendar to anyone who either registers their club membership online or else plays an auto-renewal ticket for the club lotto online.

Membership remains the same at €50 for players (€30 for Students/Unemployed) and €20 for Juvenile or Non-Players. Remember this membership fee not only protects all members, but along with the lotto, it also ensures the club can continue to field the ever increasing volume of teams that it does, so please sign up ASAP.

If online membership or lotto ain’t your thing, you can of course just pay your various team managers or captains or pop into Pat Faulkner, M&F or any committee member.

NFL PREDICTOR

The winners of Week Five were Ciaran Gorman (2nd week running) & Sean Ward (c/o Clarkes Bar) who both scored 21pts (out of a possible 24) and win €50 each.  Week Six continues in two weeks (02/03 Mar). The cost is just €3 per week with 1st prize winning/sharing  €100. All you have to do is attempt to predict who will win the 16 NFL matches with a home win (1pt), away win (2pts) or draw (3pts)

If you want to enter, you can collect an entry form from Kevin Sheils or Niall Smith , or e-mail info@kingscourtstars.ie for an entry form. Results will appear on weekly club notes & online newsletter.

LOTTO

The winning numbers in this week’s lotto were 10, 16, 22 & 23 (Bonus 19). There was no jackpot but the three Match 3’s won €135 each.

Next week’s draw takes place on Sunday 26th March and the jackpot will be €3,600 (€8,600 including the bonus).
