JUVENILE REGISTRATION DAY

The Club runs it’s juvenile registration day this Saturday morning in the Club Pavilion.  All juvenile players MUST be registered this day if they wish to play in the 2011 seasons.  The registration runs from 10am to 12.30pm and is for all underage boys & girls from 5 to 14.  There will be a FREE Kingscourt Stars T Shirt to all players who are fully paid up on the day.

MINORS

The Minors made it two in a row with a comprehensive win away to Gowna.  Despite the long trip the lads hit the ground running and ran out convincing 1-15 to 0-4 winners.  The lads have a bye next week.

LADIES AGM

Thanks to all who attended the recent AGM and have agreed to assist the various teams this year.  U-14 training started last weekend and will continue this Sunday at 11.30am.  If you, or your daughter, is interested in playing, please attend the above Registration Day on Saturday.  If you were unable to attend the AGM would be willing to give a hand out, in any form during the year, please let us know at the registration day.

CHALLENGES

The Seniors played Magheracloone in a challenge down the Park on Sunday morning and a free flowing match in the style of all pre-season matches was the order of the day.  This Friday they are in action again, and this time the Juniors will also be in action (at least that’s the plan)when they both take on Dromintee (Armagh). The first game will start about 7pm with the Seniors on straight after.

MEMBERSHIP

2011 club membership is due again and can be paid in Pat Faulkner’s or M&F’s shops, or indeed to any committee member.  Membership remains the same at €50 for players (€30 for Students/Unemployed) and €20 for Juvenile or Non-Players.

Players can also be paid to your various team managers or captains and can also be paid online via www.kingscourtstars.ie for those that are away from the town.  We cannot stress how important membership is to the club’s finances and it is imperative that all club members pay same over the next month or so to ensure the club can continue to be properly run.

As an incentive to supporters to join the club, fully paid up members of the club can avail of discounts into home matches and on upcoming club merchandise. You will also receive complimentary refreshments after home games!! Sure, you’d be mad not to join…

THE PITCH

Just a reminder that The Pitch continues in the The Gonzo Theatre, Cavan this Thurs, Fri & Saturday. This is the new  play of former Kingscourt playwright, Shane Connaughton and centres around a character called Philly, who is tormented by painful memories and the unjust fate that holds him prisoner as  he replays the events of that day when his club won the county championship for the one and only time and he wasn’t allowed to play.

It is getting rave reviews and is a must for anyone with an interest in local GAA. If you are interested in going please contact Niall (086 8237382) or Jim (087 2321886) or get tickets from Multisound in Cavan.
