SENIORS

The Seniors will have to battle it out with Cavan Gaels again to decide who is crowned ACFL Div 1 champs for 2010 after an entertaining 2-8 to 0-14 draw in Kingspan Breffni Park on Sunday evening.

A dream start saw Mossy Malone goal in the opening minute, and while the Gaels had drawn level by the midway point of the half, Ryan McCormack made it 2-1 to 0-4 with another goal.  Sadly, further goal chances were not taken, but with the Gaels missing some handy points, the Stars still led 2-3 to   0-6 at the break.

The 2nd half saw a familiar pattern of the Gaels narrowing the gap to one point, and Kingscourt then extending it back to three.  However despite McCormack and Mark McKeown hitting the target, we could just not pull away and two late points from the Gaels saw them tie matters on the stroke of fulltime.

The replay will take place in Lavey on Sunday 7th November at 12.30pm.

CROKE PARK TRIP

The Juvenile Club headed to Dublin on Saturday to watch the International Rules match between Ireland and Australia.  Despite a largely lacklustre game, the lads all enjoyed themselves and we will have some pictures from the day up on www.kingscourtstars.ie during the week.

WINTER FOOTBALL

With November practically upon us the conditions for outdoor football are hardly ideal.  However, given the enthusiasm for ball within the club at the moment, the Juvenile Club are eager to keep things going.

As such, a six week indoor program will run from Sun 14th November(delay a week due to Senior League Final Replay)  in Kingscourt Community Centre from 11.30am to 1pm.  It will just continue with the basic training of Gaelic Football and is open to all boys/girls (whether existing club members or not) from aged 5-10. Cost of the training will be just €1 per morning and further details can be got of James Brown on 086 8640380.

LOTTO

The winning numbers in this week’s lotto were 01, 10, 17 & 25 (Bonus 19). There was no jackpot winner and just the one Match 3 with Eugene Hughes claiming the €200 all for himself.  Next week’s draw takes place in Clarkes and the jackpot will be €4,800 (€9,800 including the bonus).
